Custom Cabinets in Placerville, CA

Placerville — the county seat that grew straight out of the Gold Rush — keeps a working Main Street of genuine age and a housing stock to match: nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century homes near downtown, and foothill properties in the surrounding hills. AV’s Cabinets builds for both from the Rocklin shop down Highway 50: period-sympathetic kitchens and built-ins for the old houses, and clean custom work for the new ones.

Craft for a town that predates catalogs

Houses of Placerville’s vintage were cabineted by hand originally, and they show every shortcut a modern box store takes. Face-frame and inset construction, hand-fit doors, correct-era profiles, and finishes with depth — the old-world techniques Andrey learned in his grandfather’s shop — are what let new work disappear into an old house.

Foothill properties around town go the other way: stained-wood kitchens, view-framing built-ins, and the practical mud/laundry storage hill life requires. Same shop, both briefs.

Permits & building authority

Placerville is one of the county’s only two incorporated cities; inside city limits the city is the authority, while the surrounding communities — Diamond Springs, Camino, and the rest — permit through El Dorado County. Official resource: City of Placerville (or El Dorado County outside city limits).

The cabinetmaker

Every project here is designed with you and built to order in the Rocklin shop by Andrey Voronenko — the craftsman AV’s is named for — who oversees the installation. His story.

Placerville questions, answered

Can new cabinetry look right in a Gold Rush-era house?
Yes, when it’s built the way the originals were: correct construction, correct profiles, honest finishes. That match-the-era work is the shop’s founding skill set.
Do you come up Highway 50 often?
The corridor from Folsom through Cameron Park to Placerville is standard territory — pieces build in Rocklin and install on site on a scheduled run.
