Custom Cabinets in Sacramento
Sacramento’s best-loved neighborhoods — East Sacramento with its Fabulous Forties, Land Park, Curtis Park, Midtown’s older blocks — are full of homes from the 1920s through the 1950s whose kitchens and built-ins were craftsman work the first time around. AV’s Cabinets builds for those houses the way they were built originally: to order, by hand, by a cabinetmaker trained in old-world door and cabinet construction, then installed under the same eye.
Period homes without period compromises
The classic Sacramento remodel problem: keep the house’s character while giving the kitchen modern storage and appliances. Custom construction solves it directly — inset or beaded face-frame work that matches the era, paint and glaze finishes in period-honest tones, and interiors organized like a modern kitchen behind doors that belong to the house. Built-ins are half the story in these neighborhoods: window seats, dining-room hutches, living-room bookcases flanking a fireplace.
Newer Sacramento — Natomas, infill builds, downtown condos — runs the other way, toward the flat-panel and slab work in the Contemporary collection. One shop, both languages.
A note on our history here
The legacy AV’s Cabinets site has carried “Sacramento Custom Cabinets” as its banner since the beginning — this is the market the shop grew up in, and the portfolio’s photographs go back to its earliest Sacramento-area work in 2006.
