Custom Cabinets in Sausalito, CA
Sausalito stacks its houses on a hillside over Richardson Bay and moors a famous floating-homes community below — two versions of the same cabinetry problem: rooms with serious views and no square footage to waste. That is custom work by definition. AV’s Cabinets builds storage that disappears into walls, kitchens scaled to the room they actually occupy, and vanities built to the inch — made to order in Rocklin, with installation supervised by Andrey.

Small footprints, high standards
When the view is the point, cabinetry’s job is to hold everything and claim nothing: full-height storage in shallow depths, window seats with drawers, galley kitchens organized like instruments, floating vanities that keep floors visible. Built-to-order construction earns its keep in exactly these rooms, where an inch matters.
Floating homes push the same discipline further — every piece sized to the structure it enters. It is measurement-first work, and measuring the room as it really is happens to be how this shop builds everything.

Permits & building authority
Sausalito is an incorporated city; its Community Development Department handles permits inside city limits, and floating-home projects carry approval questions of their own. What applies to your project gets settled during design. Official resource: City of Sausalito Community Development.
What we build for Sausalito
Sausalito questions, answered
- Do you build for floating homes?
- Compact, built-to-the-inch cabinetry is exactly what a custom shop is for, and every piece is designed around the access and structure it must enter. Bring the particulars to the consultation.
- How do Sausalito projects get scheduled?
- Like all distance work: designed at consultation, built in the Rocklin shop, installed in planned site trips. Distance changes logistics, not what can be built.
