Wood behaves differently in the mountains
Sierra interiors see real seasonal swings — dry heated winters, humid thaws — and solid wood moves with them. That is a construction problem before it is a style problem: panel doors built to float, finishes chosen for stability, and installation that leaves wood room to live. Stylistically Truckee runs from heavy-timber traditional to modern alpine; made-to-order construction serves both, and stained-wood work — the shop’s ceilings, doors, and built-ins — is the natural mountain vocabulary.
